This week on the Sports Insider we are looking into the mindset of Hughson Husky Varsity Flag football players and their coach. The Huskies will be facing the Hilmar Yellowjackets. As Hilmar and Hughson have won the first round of playoffs, the Yellowjackets will be facing the Huskies on the Hughson home field. The Huskies have beaten Hilmar both times they have played them. Hughson is hoping to win the game on Halloween. The Huskies have been doing great there the whole entire season. They have grown so far and hope to make it far and win sections as well as go to state. Lets see what the Huskies Varsity Flag Football team is thinking about this game.
Number 4, Quarterback Leah Hobby said, “I am really excited to play tonight. I think we will do really good and I can’t wait to hopefully keep moving forward in the playoffs!”
Number 15, Peyton Avila said, “In my mind this is just a little obstacle in our way to sections. We all know we are better than Hilmar and we just need to come together and destroy them one last time and prove that the little bumble bee can hang out with the big dawgs.”
Number 9, Grace Leedom said, “I think we need to come into the game with energy from the very start until the very end and dont leave any room for them to score.”
Number 6, Sophia Sanchez said, “I feel confident that we can beat them for the third time, I feel that we should be able to keep them at 0 and finish strong.”
Football coach and history teacher at Hughson High School, Mr. Garza, said, “ I think we have been through every game situation. And we are hungry to keep playing and to win the whole thing. Hilmar is an obstacle on our way to our main goal.”
