This week on the Sports Insider we are looking into the mindset of the Hughson Huskies Varsity Flag Football players and their coach. The Huskies will be facing the Orestimba Warriors. As Orestimba and Hughson have won their two playoff games, this will determine who goes to sections. Hughson beat Orestimba in league 27-20 but then Orestimba beat Hughson 26-25. Both teams are going to put their best out there on the field. It’s just going to depend on who can deliver their skill better and execute it on the field the best. This is Hughsons first year of flag football, but their skills from the beginning of the season to now are amazing. They became a whole at the end of the season and they trust each other with the decisions that get made throughout the game. Hughson is hoping to take this win against Orestimba and make their way to the sections where they will either play Escalon or Colfax.
Number 15, Peyton Avila said, “Alphas never die so Orestimba will perish tomorrow night at 7 on the dot. Our team sticks together like a strong pack of wolves and we will devour them. Sections is already our game to play.”
Number 11, Finley Wells said, “I think we have the ability to win we are such a great team and it’s like family, we work together, we win and we lose together, and I think that game will be one of the best. I think if we can make it to sections it will be amazing especially this being our first year and us getting so far.”
Number 4, Leah Hobby said, “I think we need to focus on playing our best tomorrow. If we do win, It would be such a great opportunity to go to the section championship because we have already gone so far.”
Number 6, Sophia Sanchez said, “I believe we are such a powerful team, we work hard and play hard. No matter what happens we are all family, I love these girls so much I know we can go to their home, stomp on them, and bring victory to our home. May the lord bless us with this win to show Orestimba that we are the better team.”
