For this week’s Sophomore Sunshine we interviewed Xavier Alvarez, Olivia Boggan, and Layla Fiorini.

Xavier Alvarez is a 15 year old sophomore at Hughson High School. Xavier’s favorite song is 9 by Drake. His favorite movie is “Spiderman” and his favorite food is In n Out. He moved to Hughson schools in third grade. Xavier is in football and soccer, he chose these sports because he wanted to get out of the house and so he won’t be bored. Xavier went to Ross middle school before attending Hughson High School. He misses Keith Bullock’s extra credit from his freshman year. His favorite teacher this year is Nathan Govette. Xavier says his motivation for this year is friends and family. The teacher that helped Xavier out the most is Cindy Newsome.

Olivia Boggan is a 16 year old sophomore at Hughson High School. Olivia’s favorite song is telephones. Her favorite movie is “Twilight” and her favorite food is In n Out. She moved to Hughson schools for her freshman year. Olivia is in cheer, soccer, and tennis, she chose these sports because she wanted to have fun and she loves soccer and to try something new. Her highlight of her year so far is the football games. Olivia went to Hickman Middle School before attending Hughson High School. She misses Keith Bullock’s class from her freshman year. Her favorite class this year is Garza for history.  The teacher that helped Olivia out the most is Keith Bullock.

Layla Fiorini is a 16 year old sophomore at Hughson High School. Layla’s favorite song is Mind Over Matter. Her favorite movie is “Tangled” and her favorite food is tacos. She has gone to Hughson schools her whole life. Layla is in cheer. She chose cheer because she wanted to try something new. The highlight of her year so far is making new friends. She misses the football games from her freshman year. Her favorite class this year is English. Layla says her motivation for this year is her family and friends. The teacher that helped Layla out the most is Cindy Newsome.
