Gabrielle Daysog, also known as Mrs. Daysog, has been teaching for four years. When Daysog was in her last two years of highschool she was inspired by her English teachers to become an English teacher herself. Her favorite part about teaching is helping students realize their full potential. Along with that, her favorite lesson to teach is either Romeo and Juliet or The Great Gatsby. Daysog does in fact love being an English teacher. If she was not a teacher, she would have loved to have her own bakery. Daysog’s goal for her students by the end of the school year is to have them gain confidence and feel proud of themselves. How she adapts with students with special needs is to provide extra help on their work/assignments.
Daysog handles classroom discipline is by having a one-on-one conversation with them about their situation. When there is a problem in her class between students, she talks to them one-on-one to see the issue between them. Daysog’s method on how to help kids who are struggling is to provide audio-supports, visual aids (pictures), re-explanations or explaining topics in a different way. Her work-life balance as a teacher can be hard sometimes, but she finds it easier to deal with when you have an organized schedule. Daysog’s advice for someone who would like to become a teacher is to be patient with yourself and others. Her favorite memory at this school is seeing previous students come back and visit her.
