Long ago, humans betrayed dragons, stealing their magic and banishing them to a dying world. Centuries later, their descendants worship dragons as gods. But the gods remember, and they do not forgive.
This fantasy book starts from the viewpoint of a dragon named Everen while showing how he met this one kid named Arcady. Arcady is a thief and unwanted by everyone in their society, they are an outsider that has been on their own their whole life, not always by choice. Everen on the other hand comes from a dying world that humans created for them, he is the only male dragon left alive and he is done with being controlled by little humans. One day he found a rip in a veil that separated him from the human realm and he went right for it, going into the human world running into Arcady.
I was very confused about everything going on in this book for the first half of it, but it still seemed very interesting so it gave me motivation to keep reading it. I really did end up enjoying it, especially the second half once things made a lot more sense. The ending really made me want the second one immediately! This book was the first in the trilogy and the next one is called Emberclaw and it comes out March 4, 2025 and i’m so excited!
