Coming into winter we got the Hugson Huskies Varisty Girls basketball team. They have been having a rough pre-season so far this year. But that doesn’t mean they won’t show up in the league. This team has lost many star players coming into the year. They have a pretty young team that will be representing varsity. With six seniors, the rest fall in the grades below. The team is hoping as a whole they can come together throughout the early season and do well in the league seeing if they can follow the footsteps of last year with the title of TVL.
Number 15, Peyton Avila said, “My outlook going into this game is to just have fun. I would like to just overall team hustle and I feel like we can get the dub easily. This team is not better than us. We are prepared by wonderful coaches and have well crafted this team. I feel like they have prepared us sufficiently and we are ready to go to battle versus those knights. A true knight has blood on their sword if you know what I mean. Personally prepared for this game by making sure I look my absolute best.”
Captain, Number 24, Raegan Barstow said, “My outlook is that as long as we like to play good defense and focus on offense then we should come out with the win. Yeah we’ve been super focused during practice and it definitely helped during the Ripon game which will help us translate it to Ripon Christian after like focusing on all of our mistakes and bettering ourselves for league. I personally prepared for this game by just getting in the right mindset and focusing on what I need to be focused on as well as helping my teammates prepare for themselves too.”
Captain, Number 5, Morgan Bleakley said, “we have been working hard in practice and we definitely have the ability to win. The team is prepared because in practice we have been going over new offense and working on defense to make sure we can get good steals and lots of reps. I personally have been encouraging my teammates on and off the court which will hopefully transfer from practice to the game.”
