As the holiday season comes to an end, we asked students about their favorite Christmas gifts this year. The responses were as diverse and heartwarming as the gifts themselves, reflecting the unique personalities and interests of each individual. The gifts that stood out were those that carried special meaning and thoughtfulness.
Christmas is a time of joy and giving, and the excitement of unwrapping presents is a highlight for many. This year, students shared stories of receiving gifts that not only brought them happiness but also connected them with their passions and loved ones. Here are some of the favorite gifts our students received this Christmas.
To begin with, Olivia Piazza, a sophomore, explained her newest generation Airpods were her favorite gift because “I’ve had Airpods but they were the oldest version and they’ve stopped working recently, now I have new ones!” Piazza told us. Next, Adrian Andrade, a senior with a similar story, told us his favorite gift was his Ps5, “I have had a Ps4 and it wouldn’t let me do a lot of things, like play games with friends, so Now with my new Ps5 I can do all of things my Ps4 couldn’t” Andrade explained.
Then Paige Watson, a junior, told us about a very fashionable item she received “a Marc Jacobs purse and I loved it so much because it was from my boyfriend!” Watson said. Makayla Silveira, a sophomore, told us her very trendy item she got. She said, “My favorite gift was my UGGs that my sister and I received.” Silveira said they will get a lot of use out of them and they are super cute. Lastly, Bailey Peters, a junior, explained her new fishing gear was her favorite item, “I love fishing so I was really excited!” Peters said.
These interviews reveal that the best gifts are not always the most expensive or trendy items. Instead, they are the ones that show thoughtfulness and a deep understanding of what will bring joy to the recipient. Whether it’s a tool to pursue passion, a way to connect with others, or a heartfelt handmade item, the true value of a gift lies in the meaning behind it.
As we wrap up the holiday season, it’s clear that the spirit of giving and the joy of receiving are alive and well in our student community. The stories shared by our students remind us that the most cherished gifts are those that come from the heart.
