Two weeks later, Jordan and I are starting to adjust to living in a home after so long. I woke up after a long day yesterday with chores and stuff. I find Grandpa and Jordan playing with his little toy train tracks Grandpa made. After we eat our breakfast, me and Jordan play outside and we notice a kid next door from us climbing his tree-house. His ladder breaks and Jordan uses his power to break his fall. The kid’s father comes outside to see if he was alright. I reminded Jordan of the rules and told him, “you did the right thing but you have to be cautious about your power and never show it to anyone.” Next morning, our grandparents went to church and reminded us to stay inside.
Jordan was gone after searching the house and I heard some faint laughter being heard out of the window next door and I realized Jordan went to the kids house and I found him inside showing his power to the kid. I was really mad at him for using his power. He never really showed it but tricked his new friend he had the power. The kid’s name was Chris and was probably his first friend he made out here. I eventually gave in and started playing with them until eventually Chris’s father, Dominic, came back and wanted to get something at the Christmas market in town. He invited us to join and we agreed.
After we made it to the Christmas market, I pulled Jordan to the side and scolded him for showing his power to Chris and wanted him to tell the truth to Chris that he didn’t have powers. After that, we go shopping for Christmas presents. While Jordan was shopping with Chris. I got him a present and while I was shopping I heard faint noises of what sounded like a guitar string. It was this girl with dyed hair and shorts playing guitar for money. I put some money in the tray for her. She looked beautiful and it was hard to take my eyes off her and on top of that she was really good with a guitar too. I complimented her skills on guitar. I said “My name is Shawn, I love your music.” She said “Thank you. My name is Cassidy.” I responded “Nice to meet you Cassidy. Do you mind if I draw you in my sketchbook.” “I don’t mind” Cassidy said I drew her in my sketchbook and she then complimented me on my skills in art. After that, her friend Pete showed up and looked like a biker with spiky hair. We both said goodbye to each other then left. We finished shopping then headed home after that we said goodbye to Chris and his father.
We walked back to our house and realized that Grandma and Grandpa were still at Church. Jordan wanted to check out our moms room and I reminded him that Grandma and Grandpa said not to. He nagged me about it because he wanted to know about mom. I couldn’t blame him because she left us when you were just one year old. We opened our mothers room and saw photos of her on the wall as well as a letter from her. As we are reading it, We realize that it is a letter to us telling us she knew about the incident that happened in Seattle and she wanted to find us. Grandma and Grandpa hid this from us.
We finished reading the letter and Grandma and Grandpa found us in her room and we were busted. Then she proceeded to scold us for what we did when we heard Grandpa downstairs screaming. We then rushed into his room and found out that the shelf fell on him and crushed his leg. Jordan and I lifted but it was too heavy. I had no choice but to tell Jordan to use his power to lift the shelf off of him. Grandma and Grandpa then thanked us and said they were sorry. We heard a knock on the door and it was the cops. They apparently spotted us at the Christmas market. Grandma and Grandpa said “we’ll distract them head upstairs and grab your stuff and head out the backdoor. We said goodbye. After we ran away, Jordan blamed himself for what happened and I comforted him. I thought it was about time to give him a gift to make him feel better. He says, “thank you Shawn”. We then spot a train coming by and we get on board. We have to get to Mexico. It’ll be hard for both of us but at least we have each other.
