Carolyn Jones, also known as Mrs. Jones, has been teaching for about 28 years. Jones was inspired by her kindergarten teacher and her junior high PE teacher. She stated, “These teachers made school fun for me when I had them.” Jones’ favorite part about teaching is her relationship with her students! Her favorite lesson to teach is the basic skill of physical education, through sports such as volleyball (passing, setting, and serving). If Jones was not a teacher, she would be a school counselor. Her goal for her students by the end of the school year is for them to be free and always have fun. Jones’ way to help kids who have special needs is to provide more one-on-one help to them. She usually does not have any discipline problems, but if she does she usually tries to talk to the whole class about discipline. Jones’ way to handle discipline between students is to see their perspective and talk to them one on one. Her main way to help students who are struggling is to pair them with someone who is very happy and confident. Jones’ way to handle stress is to go to church, pray, and be with her family. Her advice for someone who wants to become a teacher is to be flexible with a lot of things. Jones’ favorite memory at this school was prom of the 2021-2022 school year when she was the Grand Marshall.
