As we step into 2025, the trends among high school students are evolving rapidly. To get an idea on what’s in and what’s out, we interviewed a diverse group of students who shared their thoughts on the latest trends.
Walking through the halls, it’s clear that the student body is more expressive and conscious than ever before. From the clothes they wear to the activities they engage in, there’s a noticeable shift towards individuality and responsibility. These trends are not just about what’s popular, but also about what strongly matches the values and goals of today’s youth.
To begin with, Liberty Gonzalez, a sophomore, told us “bubble skirts need to leave, they are not cute, but trends with bows should stay!” Gonzalez said. Next, sophomore Katalina Bapenate explained, “skinny jeans should absolutely leave, but low rise jeans can stay.” Then, junior Elion Quinteros said “jorts can stay, and bull cuts can leave.”
Kali, a sophomore said birks with socks need to leave! But tucking your shirt can stay, Kali explained. Freshman Valerie Cabral told us “leopard print can of course stay, but skinny jeans need to go!” Lastly Julia Daniels, a junior, said “UGGs can stay, but baggy jeans need to be left,” Daniels told us.
These insights from students highlight cultural shifts within our school community. It’s clear that the trends of 2025 are shown in deeper values and a big desire for a better future. Students are not just following trends, they are setting them with purpose and intention.
As we navigate through 2025, it’s clear that the students are prioritizing mindfulness, and individuality. These trends not only reflect their values but also shape the culture within our school. Stay tuned as we continue to explore the forever changing outlook of high school life.
