Welcome to week Three of The Pre-Game, this week there will be three huge games to talk about across Hughson High. Here we will give you the best look inside some of the key players minds for a great prediction during the upcoming week in Huskies sports.
Boys Varsity Soccer January 29th 3:30pm V.S Escalon @ Escalon High School
As the season continues to wind down each game becomes more and more important especially for these seniors. With the drought growing, the boys are becoming desperate to be the ones to break the streak and finally win a TVL title for the soccer program. Carter Swain stated this about his thoughts on the season so far and his opinion about the upcoming matchup “I think that the season is off to a good start, however we have put ourselves in bad situations that caused us to lose some games. I think the upcoming game against Escalon will be a good matchup being that we have already beat them once this season.” After already taking a game from the Cougars, sweeping the series would be important for any sort of hope to win league especially with this much competition.
Score prediction Huskies W 4-2
Boys Varsity Basketball January 29th 7:00pm V.S Ripon @ Hughson High School
After a huge win against the Orestimba Warriors, the Huskies are hoping to keep playoff hopes alive with another W against Ripon High school. Hughson was down by fifteen points at halftime but managed to pull off the comeback victory as time ran out. Hopefully the boys can manage to keep momentum and continue to bring home more wins. Senior Jamesson Davis had this to say about how the team can bounce back and win out with just a few games left on the schedule “I think that the basketball season is going a little below the expectations for this year but we are not out of it yet we still have many more games to play. I think that as long as we go into the game with a good mentality and practice hard before leading up to the games I think we have a shot to win.” Sure, Ripon is having a great season but an upset is always possible in high school basketball.
Score Prediction Huskies W 55-54
Girls Varsity Soccer January 31st 3:30pm V.S Sonora @ Hughson High School
With playoff hopes already out the window, the girls are looking to just keep morale high and close out the season with a couple league wins. Standing at 0-6 in the TVL the Huskies are keeping their heads up with the possibility of a bright future ahead of them. They have already lost once to Sonora but look to get back at them on their own field. Tessah Burroughs had these thoughts on the Huskies future and outlook on this game “The season hasn’t been very good with the new schools joining the TVL it’s very competitive, we lost the last time we played Sonora and our coach plans to try to keep developing the younger players and put pressure on the good teams like sonora, but you can expect to be our last game.”
Score Prediction Huskies L 4-0
As another week in Husky sports arrives our athletes believe they’re going to achieve big goals and dominate in their respective sports with intense practices and dedication. Through the wins and losses we will always show support. Here’s to hoping our teams bring their best and make us all proud.
