This is a fantasy book about dragons with a little bit of romance mixed in but the romance does get heavier into the next book. It follows this girl named Violet Sorangal and her journey to this war college named Basgiath where you can be one of three things such as a Scribe, Healer, or a Rider. Our main character wanted to be a scribe and just read and write all the time but with her brother Brennan passing away five years ago and her older sister also being a rider and her mother being a principal there she feels like she should be a rider as well. But being a rider is a very hard thing to do, you have to pass multiple obstacles that the school has in place till you can even meet the dragons. It is a hard thing to figure out and get through mentally and physically especially when you’re fighting your chances at life as well as your fellow classmates. 

I was obsessed with this book and I immediately read the next one and I got upset that I never read it sooner! I loved seeing Violet interact with one of the other characters named Xaden! If you read this book and you don’t love them… I would be concerned. And the dragons! I would love to live in this series but I would die long before I even got to glance at a dragon, but Tairn is my favorite dragon I’ve ever read about! But there are officially three books out and I’ve read the first two but I need to finish the book. I’m currently reading Onyx Storm (the third one) and I’m very excited to start reading it right after I finish the last book in the Throne of Glass series.
