With Valentines around the corner people gather and buy gifts to give to their special person or even friends gifting each other to remind themselves that even though we are just friends with no romantic connections they still love you. Platonically of course. Some popular gifts that are given are candies and chocolates that are the basic starter packs to anybody’s valentine gift bag. Some of these gift bags have candies like Conversation Hearts. Conversation Hearts or Sweetheart candy hearts were first made as sweet treats that had heartfelt messages on them they shared affectionate notes from one person to another.
I remember in elementary school where on valentines day students would have their own personal valentines gift bag that people would stuff with notes and candies. One of the most popular candies were usually chocolates like Hershey’s, Twix or even Reese’s but my favorite that trump all of these very delicious chocolates were the Conversation hearts. They always got the most adorable reaction out of little kids. You could hear and see the clear joy that would radiate off of them after receiving them. Although now as I’m older people my age find them cringe and weird, i just think of them as haters. They aren’t the best candies you could get on a regular basis but on the day we call “Valentine’s Day” it’s something more, it’s special. So even now if anyone would give me these special candies I would cherish them with all my heart. It would take me back to the innocent age of 9 in the classroom looking through my bag hoping I would get just one of these candies. To everyone it could mean nothing but to me it’s so much more.To me they are my favorite sweet nothings to get on valentines. Who knows, maybe your special person thinks the same. So if you have absolutely no idea what else to get them, get some of their favorite flowers, chocolates and throw some sweet nothings in there too.
