This book is a fantasy with some romance and it is the first to a series of five, the first one is a beauty and the beast retailing but then it ventures off into something much greater in the later books. But you follow the main character Feyre where she has grown up poor her whole life and hasn’t had much ever. Her mom passed away when she was younger and her dad is disabled and her two other sisters aren’t really helpful so she goes out and hunts to get food for her family. One day while she was hunting this deer and she saw a large wolf also going after the deer, she had to decide what one she wanted to bring home for dinner… well she ended up killing both and sold the wolfs pelt for extra money. And the next day this huge angry fairy was there demanding to talk to her for killing one of his kind! Feyre got scared because the Fae are meant to stay on the other side of this magical wall barrier and somehow he got here! So she went with him to discover what now laid ahead of her life. 

One of my friends was obsessed with this series and she tried for so long to get me to read when I finally decided to read it and I loved it! It took a second to get into but the second book is so much better than the first and they kinda stay that way after that. And the main male character in the second book is so good! It was the second fantasy book that I ever could really get into and it made me want to read more fantasy books and the whole series was just a fun experience.
