Fight Club follows an unnamed narrator played by Edward Norton who seems to be a delusional white-collar worker suffering from insomnia. Who wants to escape his very consuming everyday life and meets a soap sales person with a primitive sense of masculinity and freedom. Tyler Durden who’s played by Brad Pitt. They both then start up an underground fight club that started off as harmless but then grew into a violent madhouse and later known as “Project Mayhem.”
Fight Club is a dark exploration of identity and consequences of deprived beings’ actions driven by excessive consumerism. The motion picture captivates its viewers with its intense visuals, and it’s mind boggling thoughts of the narrator and memorable performance from Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. The film’s entirety doesn’t seem as boring once due to the narrator diving into his own psyche for the viewers to hear. It allows the viewer to think critically about meaning in an increasingly expanding shallow world. Directors amplified the film’s tense unpredictable atmosphere. Fight club challenges its viewer, making them think if Tyler Durden’s philosophy is just to capture a feeling of liberation or a wild dangerous spiral into chaos.
With the film’s twist ending is known to be one of the most iconic in cinematic history. It makes the viewer rethink the whole movie. This happens to be a bit controversial and very misunderstood but it doesn’t take away from the incredible mind boggling cinema.
