A few months after the incident at the Church, Mom takes us to her hideout in the Canyons in Arizona. It’s a beautiful and great place for me to heal after what happened. Also, we met some new people. Their names are Mark, Henry, Lyla, and Pete. They were people like mom who were running away from their past and they are the ones that founded this little hideout out in the Canyons. I know that we will have to leave soon after I’m fully recovered so that me and Jordan can head to Mexico. We are close to the border.
We also went stargazing at night with a telescope we borrowed from Pete. We started camping just like me and Jordan to try to find the best stargazing spot. It was beautiful. As we try to fall asleep looking at the stars, I start reflecting on what a journey we’ve had after our father’s death. It was harsh but often beautiful and on top of that, we met some amazing people and made some good friends. The only regret I’ve had is that Dad wasn’t here with us and it was all because of that cop. The next morning, Jordan woke me up to admire the view of the scenery of the Canyons. We started packing up our food, drinks, and that telescope we borrowed and went back to the Hideout.
After a few days, Me and Jordan started planning our trip to Mexico. We are so close to the border. Mom warns us that the cops tracked us to Arizona after what happened at that Church. We had little time, so we decided to leave tomorrow morning. Jordan was reluctant to leave in the morning but eventually agreed. We had one last final night of stargazing with our mom; it was fun and gave us a brief moment to forget about all of this. The next morning, we got ready to go and they lent us a car and Pete lent us his police radio as a way to listen just in case that they are closing in on us. We say one final goodbye to Mark, Henry, Lyla, Pete, and Mom. We gave Mom and everyone else a hug goodbye, then left.
