The Conjuring is a paranormal supernatural horror movie directed by James Wan premiered in 2013. The film is based on real life events that happened with real paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren. The movie is set in the 1970’s following a couple, Carolyn Perron (Lili Taylor), Roger Perron (Ron Livingston) and their beautiful daughters, Andrea played by Shanley Caswell, Nancy played by Hayley Mcfarmland, Christine played by Joey King, Cindy played by Mackenzie Foy and April played by Kyla Deaver.
Perron has newly moved into a house that they bought from the bank. The family is shown to be haunted by an entity that is not from this world. The family soon figures out that they are being haunted, and Carolyn the mother seeks help. She finds this help from two paranormal investigators Ed played by Patrick Wilson and Lorraine played by Vera Farmiga Warren.
The horrified family experiences twisted disturbing acts of violence from the entity not knowing why all this is happening to them. The Warren’s find out that it’s based on the history of the land. A witch that once lived there set a curse on her land to haunt the families that dare to step foot on her land. The horrifying backstory is one to remember as the mother of the newly moved family is possessed by this witch and she has to end the lives of two of her children.
The witch’s whole thing is to use God’s given gift, the ability to create new life to sacrifice children in the name of her ruler. The actors truly show an amazing display of the character clearly capturing the psychological horrors that make it feel even more life-like especially from the actresses that played the children. The entirety of the film captivates the truth of the actual story the movie is based on.
Every actor truly portrays the character wonderfully.The conjuring ultimately brings a terrifying and satisfying experience that frightens and captures the audience.One thing not to forget about the movie is the fact that it is based on real life events.This Film is truly one of the most known modern horror films and there’s a reason that it is.
