Took a week to finally be able to play but it was definitely worth the wait because we destroyed Ripon Christian 15-0, it was not even a competition we showed the TVL was not a league to be slept on like RC previous league the SAL. The Pitching from Max Mankins was dominant like usually not letting up any runs and only 2 hits let up. The hitting was also just as good with hit after hit with good Ab’s to get runners on and to get runs on the board. It was a very good game for the second league game and the Hughson Huskies winning the TVL are looking good.
After all of the rain passed and all of the field dried up we were finally able to get another game in. We played Ripon Christian on Wednesday and it was a great game because lots of players on the team got to get into the game. We started the game off hot by scoring 7 runs in the first 2 innings. Our starting pitcher Max Mankins was dealing on the mound as well throwing 4 innings with 7 strikeouts. During the game we kept dominating on both defense and offense to take home another league win 15-0. Looking forward to our upcoming games against Ripon and Oristimba.
After a long break without a game, the Huskies were finally back onto the field taking on Ripon Christian for the first time in the TVL. Ripon Christian unfortunately suffered an injury to their best player resulting in a need for surgery. This just bettered the Huskies and we didn’t disappoint. Max was on the mound and shut down the Knights offense allowing only 3 hits and shoving a complete game. After just a couple batters we already gained a significant lead and never looked back. Hit after hit the lead became larger, ending in a 15-0 Hughson win. Beau Blake had a great game going 4-4 with a couple runs batted in along with a few other big hits from Andrew Fisher and Lawson Aviles. The Huskies went on to sweep the series and bring the winning streak to 5 games. With lots of momentum, Hughson enters a 3 game week taking on Orestimba twice and Ripon High who are some of the weaker teams in league.
