This thriller book follows a couple that is more on the poorer side after the main male character Blake loses his job so his and his soon to be wife are going to have to rent out their guest bedroom. They had a handful of people come and see the room and they were all VERY weird and so it definitely was not going to work because they were way over the top. Till Whitney comes in to see the room, they immediately offer it to her and it ends up working out for a long time till Blake finds rooting fruit hidden in the kitchen and all his food and shower supplies and then it keeps going down hill.
I was really excited to just love a book since I haven’t been able to sit and read and truly enjoy it in a while and I thought a Fredia McFadden book was going to do that… and it did not. I just never really got that spooky vibe from this book at all. It was just like “okay… and…” and it was just not that entertaining to me and it just wasn’t what I was looking for at the time.
