Juan Diaz, a senior at Hughson High School, has taken art for all four years. He says art is his favorite class and describes it as a chill place to be. While he hasn’t decided if he wants to pursue a career in art, he’s keeping it open as a possibility. When asked if he would want to major in art in college, Diaz said, “If I could, I probably would.”
Diaz shared that his favorite things to draw are cats. He prefers drawing realistic subjects and enjoys working with colored pencils.
His art teacher, Mr. Brown, who has taught him throughout high school, said, “He’s always been creative and interested in what we’re doing in the class.” The teacher believes Diaz shines most in polymer clay sculptures and added that his excitement and dedication give him a strong future in art.
Classmate Israel Garcia agreed, saying he could see Diaz continuing art in college and pointing out how consistent Diaz has been with his art throughout all four years.
Both his teacher and peers believe Juan Diaz has true talent and potential in the art world.
