On Thursday, October 8th, the Lady Huskies Volleyball team took a hard loss against the Ripon Indians. The Indians are now 18-2, and will next play Orestimba in Newman, who are 11-15. The Huskies showed great teamwork and lots of energy during the game, but they could not keep up with the Indians’ quick plays and great defense. During the game, there was a lot of new talent shown on the court due to a very different lineup than usual.
Sophomore Izzy Piazza, usually the starting libero, played outside for the first time in her high school career and got a total of 4 kills, which is impressive from the 5’8 athlete. Another athlete that stood out in the unusual lineup was Senior Mina Bylsma. Generally, she plays Middle or Middle back; however, for the first set, she got to play right side and had some great defense and offense! As the season continues to go on, they hope to get back to the top of the leaderboard and win the TVL Title.
