On Thursday, October 9th, the Lady Huskies had a hard battle against the Cougars, and left everything on the court during their five-set fight. The Huskies’ new record is 18-8, but they are still working very hard to put in all their effort to get back to the top. The Cougars came out strong by winning the first set 25-21, but the Huskies fought back by winning the second set 25-19 to even the score.
The Cougars had an intense defense during the third set, and took control by pulling through the set 25-22, but the Huskies were not going to let them win without a fight. They went on to win the fourth set, causing the teams to have to play a fifth (only to 15 points). Both teams showed so much hard work and determination with their strong defense, great serves, and an insane amount of hustle.
Over the weekend, the Lady Huskies went on to play four games and won 3 out of 4 of them in the Stockton Classic Tournament. Their first game was against Clayton Valley Charter, and they won in 2 sets. The scores were 25-10 and 15-15. The second game they played was against Bradshaw Christian, and they also won in 2 sets, the scores being 25-15 and 25-22. The third game they played was a battle against West Campus, and they played all three sets. The ending scores were 25-18 HHS, then 25-23 WCHS, and the last set was 17-15 WCHS.
The final game they played was against Vintage. They played hard through all three sets, taking home the W and winning the third set 15-7. All in all, they ended the Stockton Classic Tournament taking home second and winning another trophy to hang on the wall.
