Fredy Castaneda: What is your favorite memory here?
Mr. Ellington: My best memory here is watching the ag program grow from two teachers to four and a half.
Fredy Castaneda: What is your least favorite memory here?
Mr. Ellington: The loss of a student who passed away in a car accident.
Fredy Castaneda: How do you encourage the kids to work hard?
Mr. Ellington: By being a model to them.
Fredy Castaneda: What is a message you can pass down to the kids?
Mr. Ellington: Never give up.
Fredy Castaneda: What got you into teaching ag mechanics?
Mr. Ellington: I was and am ADHD hyperactive attention deficit, and it was at Tracy High School where I was given skills so that I can get through my life.
Fredy Castaneda: Favorite memory as a kid?
Mr. Ellington: San Joaquin fair, because at the end of my junior year I placed second in my beef cattle FFA Showmanship.
Fredy Castaneda: If you could relive a memory from your childhood, what would it be and why?
Mr. Ellington: It would be my senior year in ACT Program Tracy High School because through that, I started my own landscaping business.
Fredy Castaneda: Did you play any sports in highschool?
Mr. Ellington: I played basketball. I played guard.
Fredy Castaneda: If you were not teaching right now, what would you be doing?
Mr. Ellington: I would be in industry. Farm machinery or small engine repair.
Fredy Castaneda: Have you ever broken a bone?
Mr. Ellington: I never have.
Fredy Castaneda: What was your favorite show growing up?
Mr. Ellington: The Andy Griffith Show.
Fredy Castaneda: What is your favorite hobby?
Mr. Ellington: Ranch work on a ranch in La Grange. I also enjoy trout fishing.
Fredy Castaneda: What is a hidden talent you have?
Mr. Ellington: I used to race NASCAR race cars.
Fredy Castaneda: If you could teach any other subject, what would it be?
Mr. Ellington: At this point, there is no other subject that I want to teach other than all the different areas of agriculture.
Fredy Castaneda: What is your favorite candy?
Mr. Ellington: M&M chocolate.
