September 7, 2022
Tommy: How long have you taught at Hughson High?
Larson: I am currently teaching my 20th year at HHS.
Tommy: Have you always wanted to be a teacher?
Larson: No. My original career goal was to be a veterinarian. I changed my career path during my 2nd year of college.
Tommy: What do you like most about being a teacher?
Larson: The most rewarding part of being a teacher is being able to see my students succeed in their endeavors.
Tommy: If you could make one thing stick with your students what would it be?
Larson: NEVER give up!
Tommy: Did anything inspire or influence you to want to become a teacher?
Larson: My mom has always been my biggest supporter and when I was struggling to make the decision to not move forward with Vet School she reminded me of my passion for agriculture and to find a way to share that with others.
Tommy: What is one thing everyone should know about you?
Larson: Family is very important to me. My daughters, Rylee and Reagan, are my shining stars and I love watching them share in my passion to teach others.
Tommy: What do you like to do in your free time?
Larson: My free time is spent with my family either at gymnastics with Rylee and Reagan or working on our house.
Tommy: Who was your role model when you were growing up, why did you look up to them?
Larson: My mom was and still is my role model. She is the strongest woman I know and I strive everyday to be like her. Her caring nature and desire to help anyone is something I try to encompass in my life daily.
Tommy: What is one of your favorite movies, and why is it your favorite?
Larson: Secretariat because it teaches us about the importance of never giving up even when others may not believe in us.
Tommy: How about a favorite quote?
Larson: “She believed she could, so she did.”
Tommy: Anything else we should know about you?
Larson: My nickname is Ag Princess and that is what my personalized license plate says.
