Since 1972, Ralph H. Baer created the first console, the name was the Magnavox Odyssey. The console was released in the USA in September 1972 and its life span was 6 years and it cost $99.95 dollars. They made a total of 350,000 and stopped making them in 1975. The gaming console only had 28 games to play. When you would buy an Odyssey you would get 13 games included with the console. The Magnavox Odyssey today is worth $40,000 to $44,450. Since 1972 businesses have been competing over 50 years to make the best console. The top businesses that have been competing are Microsoft and Sony and lot’s of people have been comparing both of them to see which is better. Sony was created on May 7, 1946 and Microsoft was created on April 4, 1975.

Sony Interactive System, the manufacturer’s of the PlayStation, released the first Playstation console in Japan on December 3 1994. At the time, Playstation was worth $299 in the USA and in Japan was worth ¥39,800. Production ended for the first playstation on March 6, 2006. It had a memory of 2 MB RAM, 1 MB VRAM.

The Playstation 1 was released to the public in North America on September 9, 1995, in Europe on September 29, 1995, and in Asian locations such as Australia on November 15, 1995.

Since the release of the Playstation 5, the Playstation 5 would be known as the most popular in gaming history not far from the XBOX. The console has more exclusive games, has the most promising technology, and the graphics out top the XBOX SERIES X. The PS5 controller is one of the best and easiest to use and understand. 

XBOX is a console created and owned by Microsoft. There were 5 XBOX consoles ever created, like the XBOX 360, XBOX 1, etc. The XBOX brand was first introduced in November 2001. By far the XBOX 360 has sold the most consoles since its release in 2005 over the rest of the consoles, about 86 million copies of the XBOX 360 were sold. The first ever XBOX was released on November 15, 2001 in North America, February 22, 2002 in Japan, and March 14, 2002 in Australia and Europe.

Some of the positives of the XBOX is that it has more storage for your games, and that there are more games that are available for XBOX than Playstation. The brand new XBOX Series X is the most powerful console in the XBOX brand ever, and that the XBOX is shorter than the PS5 which is an advantage of room space. 

So therefore, both consoles have advantages over each other. The XBOX Series X has more storage and more storage means more capture gallery, saved data, and game space. The PS5 however has more games that you can play, playstation plus, easy to use, and better graphics over all. Though the XBOX has lots of space and more domestic games or exclusives, you can also play the most recent games on XBOX. The main point of gamers is that they want a console that will last longer, enjoyment, and be easy enough to use. Although most gamers would buy the PS5 other than the XBOX, the XBOX still has more storage for space, and lots of games with playstation have a problem with storage even me! The PC also has advantages over both the consoles though the PC costs over 1 thousand dollars but will last long enough and be able to play games that are not available on game consoles, but extremely hard to use.

Adrian Gutierres, a freshman at Hughson High School, said that, “the PS5 has a better durability compared to the XBOX.” Gutierres added that, “PS4 is easy to use because you just push buttons and can remember where they are located.”

Gutierres also said, “the hardest console to use is a PC because you have to remember where all the keys are then master them for the game you want to play and if you have small fingers it would be harder to master.” Gutierres also stated that “the PS4 has more exclusive games compared to xbox, because the PS4 has spider-man.” Gutierres continued by saying that “the PS2 is best to buy well being on a limit because it’s cheap and it’s fun” but he also included that “the PC is the worst to buy if you don’t have a lot of money because if you would want a high-end build it would cost between 2,000+.” Gutierres also announced that “the PC has the most space out of all the consoles because if you ever run out of space you can upgrade the peace that you need to get more games” and “he said that the PC gives more features because you can have lots of tabs open even when playing a game.” Gutierres admitted that “the PS4 overheats faster then PC and XBOX and that it sounds like a jet well playing and where you’re playing it can overheat.”

According to our sources, Adrian Gutieres, Robert Lively, Luis Padilla, and Amy Ayon had all concluded that the Playstation is better over the XBOX, though the XBOX has a few advantages such as the storage problem Playstation experiences. The Playstation is more popular and is extremely powerful, more games less storage unfortunately, easy to use, and over all better graphics than the XBOX. With the latest release of the PS5, the most powerful console they have created ever, it will soon be a gaming juggernaut, as for the XBOX it has more storage but more domestic games within Microsoft’s reach and everything. So therefore, the Playstation “landslides” the XBOX.
