First Week of NFL Wrap-up
September 21, 2022
The first week of the NFL has started and what a start it was. The current passing leader is Patrick Mahomes with 360 passing yards and 5 touchdown passes.
The rushing leader is Saquan Barkley with 164 yards and a touchdown but Johnathon Taylor Is 3 yards behind with 161 yards and a touchdown as well.
The receiving leader for the NFL is Cooper Kupp with 13 receptions, 128 yards, and a touchdown. However A.J. Brown and Davante Adams have more yards with 155 and 141 yards respectively.
Now it’s time for some defensive stats, Kamu Grugier-Hill of the Houston Texans leads the league in combined tackles with 18.
The sacks leaders of week 1 are Khalil Mack of the Chargers and Alex Highsmith of the Steelers with 3 sacks.
All teams but the Cardinals, Falcons, Panthers, Bengals, Broncos, Lions, Packers, Colts, Chiefs, Patriots, Saints, Giants, Raiders, and Seahawks have had 1 interception.
The upsets of the week were, The Bears beating the 49ers 19-10, The Vikings demolishing Aaron Rodgers’ Packers 23-9, And the Steelers edging past the Bengals 23-20.
Now for my personal picks and opinions for week 2 of the NFL. On Thursday Night Football I think it’s going to be a close game but the Chargers defense is going to be too much for the Chiefs and upset them at home.
Bears at Packers, Aaron Rodgers has no help at the wide receiver position and it showed last week. The Bears defense didn’t do well in coverage last game too but the pass rush last game for the bears looked good.
Meanwhile the Packers O-line last game didn’t do good as they gave up 4 sacks and 5 quarterback hits.
The Bears passing game didn’t look that good last week either as Justin Fields went 8-17 and threw an interception. Aaron Rodgers threw an interception last week as well.
After all that I think it’s going to come down to which offensive performs better as they both struggled last week. I’m going to say the Packers will take the win and outscore the Bears.
Now for the first game of Thursday Night Football, Titans at Bills. A stat I find crazy is that Derrick Henry of the Titans had 21 carries and 82 yards. On defense the Titans were strong as they had 5 sacks and an interception.
Last week the Bills absolutely dominated the Former Champs in the Rams. Josh Allen did throw 2 interceptions but went 26/31 and 297 yards. He also led the team in rushing yards as well. On defense they dominated as well with 7 sacks and 2 interceptions
The Bills should take this game pretty easily but onto the next game, Vikings @ Eagles.
Justin Jefferson of the Vikings had an absolutely groundbreaking game last week with 9 receptions and 184 yards. The Vikings defense were all over Aaron Rodgers with 4 sacks and 1 interception.
The Eagles on the other hand had a pretty mediocre defensive game against the Lions which were one of the worse teams last season. Eagles only had the offensive game going for them as they had 4 rushing touchdowns and A.J brown had 155 yards receiving
This game is going to come down to whoever can score the most points as they both had a good week on offense last week, I think the Vikings are going to take this game as they played well on offense and defense last week.
These were the week 1 stats, upsets, and my personal week 2 prime time picks.
