Holiday Crafting

Gisselle Rodriguez and Natalie Velasco

Do you like crafting and the holidays? What if you combine what you love together to create your own special Christmas decorations? Decorating for Christmas is always a fun activity to do with the family during the holidays. It is a great way to spend time with your family and loved ones.

There are many types of crafts one can do for the holidays, especially ones you can use for decoration. Examples of these would be paper snowflakes, homemade ornaments, wreaths, banners, etc. The cost of making some of your own decorations is way cheaper than buying it at the store. It is also more intimate because families and friends can create them together making it even more special and meaningful. A student at Hughson High school, Jaeda Rodriguez said, “I love to make paper snowflakes when I’m bored during the holidays. I think it’s a fun thing to do and it’s also a cute way to decorate.” People enjoy the joy and comfort when it comes to creating and decorating for festive occasions. When it comes to decorating, many don’t want to spend that much time and effort on it, and with the benefit of making your own decorations it’s easier and more efficient. Although it may seem that making the decorations yourself is more time consuming, going to the effort of going to a store to buy those decorations and reconstructing them seems a lot more time consuming.

Combining what you love, holidays and crafting is a great way to spend time and create memories with your loved ones. It is always a fun activity to do when you’re bored or have nothing to do, it’s cheap and cost-effective, and it’s great for family bonding.
