Strategies to Get You Through Finals

We all know that finals are coming around and a lot of people tend to stress themselves out over them, for many reasons since they are worth a lot of your grades and can also be difficult. However, there are ways to make the finals less stressful and be able to better focus on them, one of which can be to study with other people, since two brains are better than one. 

Having a study partner would be beneficial in studying and preparing for finals since you would be able to exchange ideas and information you otherwise might’ve not gotten. 

Another thing you can do is to prioritize the test that is the hardest for you, as we all know some teachers give easier finals than others, so focusing on the harder ones first would make it easier. One more point is to not procrastinate, start studying earlier rather than trying to put all the knowledge in your mind the night before, you won’t be as liable to make a mistake or forget something from skimming over it. 

Distractions are also a big problem, so, something you can do is to turn off your phone, and maybe even put it in another room so you’re not as likely to get distracted when your phone goes off. Getting a good night’s rest beforehand and the nights leading up to the finals are also very important, not just for the finals but in general since your brain needs good rest to function properly. 

Brian Sandoval stated, “Do Your Work.” Naheemy Ayon Garcia added on, “Study the review final, try hard and pick your best guess, re-read the question if you don’t understand it, ask your teachers for more help.” Vanessa Arendt declared that you should, “study in your freetime, pay attention to directions, think of many possible answers to a question, and give full responses.” So while these are just a few ways you can prepare for the finals, using some of them will really help you, not only with the performance of the finals but to become more stress free from them.
