Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: Where are you from?

Mrs. Cordano: I am from Riverbank, the city of action! I live in Oakdale now. 

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: Where did you go for college?

Mrs. Cordano: I went to MJC, Chico State, and Stan State.

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: What is your position at Hughson High School?

Mrs. Cordano: I am a counselor.

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: How many years have you worked at Hughson High School?

Mrs. Cordano: This is my first year at HHS. Before that, I was at Ross for 11 and at Central Valley High in Ceres for 6 years. 

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: What do you enjoy most working at Hughson High School?

Mrs. Cordano: I love working with the students and helping them plan for their futures. It’s such an exciting time in their lives! And it goes by so quickly.

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Mrs. Cordano: I love reading and listening to audio books

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: Who is someone that has positively impacted your life?

Mrs. Cordano: My high school English teacher, Mrs. Fenton. She inspired me to go into education.

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: What is a piece of advice you would give to students?

Mrs. Cordano: Be involved in as much as possible in high school. Sports, clubs, work, volunteer–it helps prepare you for life after high school.

Lesly Avila-Rodriguez: What is a quote you live by?

Mrs. Cordano: “The wise man is one who knows what he does not know.”
