For the month of May, The Teacher of the Month is Mrs. Compton! She teaches Math from grades 9-12. She is a Hughson High School alumni, Obtained her college education at Merced Community College and CSU Stanislaus. She expresses that her 7th and 8th grade teacher at Gratton School Mr. Echols and my High school teacher at Hughson Mr. Hitch. 

She has been teaching for 23 years at Hughson and 1 in Denair Junior High School. What Compton loves most about teaching at Hughson is simply Hughson itself, she adds on to express she loves the community and the connection you get to build with students and their families. As for being a teacher, she enjoys the students, as she feels that they energize the classroom and energize her. As for excitement, “I love having the same students over multiple years and watching them grow as people. I like watching them grow up and mature into adults ready to take on the world.”
