Congratulations to Alex Villarreal for being HHS’s male Athlete of the Week! Alex is known as an encouraging and motivational teammate, on and off the field. At the last football game Alex stood out by scoring 3 amazing touchdowns, making him the highest scoring player in the game versus Central Valley. His teammate Navi gave some insight on Alex as a teammate, “He is very encouraging, always telling us to keep our head up.”
Alex had 175 rushing yards, 16 carries, and averaged a 10.9 yard per carry. Alex has been an outstanding player in the short amount of time we’ve been in the football season, and will continue to have an amazing senior season.
Congratulations to Grace Brazil for being HHS’s female Athlete of the week. Grace has been known for being a great team player, super encouraging, and hardworking. Grace is a Freshman this year on our JV volleyball team. Friend and teammate Paige Watson said, “She’s a great team player, she always brings us up when we are down, and she’s very encouraging.”
Presley Wells, a friend and teammate, said, “She puts her heart into the game and plays 110%.”
Grace is an amazing student with straight A’s and manages to be a great student and athlete. Grace’s response to being this week’s athlete of the week was, “I’m very honored, I love volleyball so much…I deserved this, period.”
We cannot wait to see how grace grows throughout her high school career.
