Origami is the art of folding paper. You can make a lot of stuff just by folding paper. Here are a few recipes to make origami.
The Origami Crane is a classic thing to do with paper. It’s the symbol of hope in Japan. The 1st step is to get a square piece of paper. The 2nd step is to fold the paper in half both vertically and then horizontally, unfolding twice after each fold. The 3rd step is to flip the paper over then rotate it to a diamond. The 4th step is to fold from bottom left to top left and vice versa and then unfold. The 5th step is to flip the paper back and bring the left and right corners towards you and downward. 6th step is to flatten the inner corners underneath the top section to make a square base. The 7th step is to fold the bottom right diagonal edge of the front layer to the left to align with the center and then unfold. Repeat step 7 for the bottom left corner. The 8th step is to fold the top point down in between the creases of step 7 and then unfold. The 9th step is to open the bottom point of the front layer and push the left and right edges towards the center and flatten it upwards. The 10th step is to flip (the paper) it over and repeat step 9. Then on Step 11 you unfold it and open the bottom point and pull it to the top and then flatten it to make The Bird Base. Then on step 12 you fold the bottom left and right diagonal edges of the top layer to make it center aligned. On step 13, flip the model sideways and repeat step 12. On step 14 fold the bottom right point up to the right and make a crease. Then on Step 15 unfold it and do a reverse fold the crease you made. Repeat steps 14 and 15 for the bottom left. Then on Step 16, you choose one end to make the crane’s head and fold it in any angle to make a crane, wings down optional.
The Origami Crow is another paper bird. To make this origami, you’ll need a square base like the Crane and the Bird base like the Crane. On the 12th step, you point up the bottom 2 points about a third of the way up. On step 13, fold the right flap diagonally down to the right. Then on step 14, you open the right flap and flatten it into a sideways kite. On step 15 you fold the top of the right flap down. Repeat steps 13-15 for the left flap for step 16. Then Fold the front layer downwards and then flip the model over from left to right for step 17. Then for step 18, you fold a side towards the other. Then for step 19, you fold the top point over diagonally to the left. For step 20, you unfold the previous step and then inside reverse fold the crease to complete the crow.
