Last Friday the Hughson High School Football team played against Pitman High School at the Joe Debley stadium in Turlock. One of the top performers this week is Colt Foss. Colt Foss describes his favorite moment from last week’s game saying ”My favorite play from last Friday was my Tackle for Loss, the Quarterback kept it on an option play and looked to be free but in reality I had just come off the edge and tackled him in the backfield.”
Colt also talks about how he feels this week going into this Friday’s game against Thomas Downey High School in Modesto. Colt said “I feel that this Friday is definitely going to be a great challenge to our defense, with that said though I do believe that if our defense can keep up our communication and stick to the plan that we can limit the big, chunk plays that has been the staple of Downey football.”
Another one of the top performers from last Friday was David Burns. He was the MaxPreps player of the game and he had 86 rushing yards, one touchdown, and 12 tackles. He said, “I felt confident but nervous.” when entering the game. David also added, “I felt stressed in the first quarter.” The linebacker also said, “After the first half I was happy with what we did.” Burns also said, “Personally I felt like I played good in the first half and could have played better in the second.” David said, “We played good at first then declined.” Going into this week against Downey, David Burns said, “I think Downey is very good and we need to play at our best.”
