A few months ago in March, students from HHS got the opportunity to choose who they wanted to represent for their Associated Student Body Class. Mario Ochoa, a senior at Hughson High School, got voted in as the Senior Class President.
As for what inspired Ochoa to be part of Hughson’s student leadership, he commented, “I wanted to have more representation of everyone’s individual culture. I also wanted to bring a voice to leadership so people are more aware.”
Regarding pros and cons to being the Senior Class President, Ochoa stated, “people come up to me and ask me what’s next for us as high schoolers and I am able to give them a clear cut answer. I also enjoy having this position because I feel grateful that I got voted in and that people thought I would be a good candidate. A con would be that maybe it gets stressful but so far I feel good but I could see how it could get stressful.”
As for events and activities that are going to happen this year, Ochoa added, “homecoming is happening and prom is going to happen. I look forward to prom because honestly I want to do different things like a photo machine that will print out a picture for you. I am also looking forward to the music that is going to be incorporated because a lot of people felt like the music that they put in the google form wasn’t played and I am going to be looking personally into every single song.”
