School spirit is a big aspect for students at Hughson High School. Going to a football game, a spectator could look up in the student section and see an array of black and gold.
Amaris Noyce is a Senior at HHS who is involved in band and plays tennis. She stated, “I love going to football games and getting to go all out on the themes. Dressing up and cheering on the football team is the best experience.”
Amaris is one of the many people that go all out and dress up for any of the themes that the school does.
Another person who is big on school spirit is Savannah Fuller, who is involved in leadership and plays volleyball, basketball, and softball. Savannah explained that she “loves how I can dress up for the spirit days and cheer on whatever sports team is playing at the time. Going all out and dressing up with my friends to support my peers is the best feeling.”
Even though Savannah is in leadership and she is required to participate in school spirit days, she still enjoys and wants to do it.
Emma Holly is a Junior who plays tennis and is involved in the NAMI and CSF clubs. Emma commented, “Having school spirit and participating in the activities makes school all the more exciting. Being able to dress up as extravagantly as I wish for the football games and knowing I won’t be judged, as everyone else is dressed up, is really fun and decorates the student section to support the players. Homecoming week is also really fun because of how much everyone cares to support the school and the football team. It sort of unites the whole school because we’re all trying to support the school in the activities.”
