Hughson High School welcomed a new round of freshmen last month. This is the largest class of freshmen HHS has seen in many years. Freshman have already had time to get used to their workload and new teachers. Some of the new freshmen have already figured out who their favorite teacher is.
According to Lev Winkle, Mrs. Compton “-has a good personality.” Winkle has Mrs. Compton for math. Her honors teacher, Ms Giesbrecht is an English teacher at HHS. Winkle stated, “-it’s the easiest class.”
Noah Montano said that, “His favorite teachers are Ms Maki and Mrs Giesbrecht.” Montano said, “They are both Cool, Chill and understanding,” Montano has Ms Maki for Band and Mrs. Giesbrecht for English. Montano added, “I like band because I get to play my Baritone saxophone.”
Darris Brown has Mrs. Compton as his favorite teacher and for math at HHS. Brown said “-She’s funny and helps me with hard equations” Mrs. Compton is a Math teacher at HHS. Mrs. Compton is one of our math teachers that teaches math 1,math 2, and math 3 at HHS.
Krystal Bogle has Mrs. Daysog as her favorite teacher for English class. Bogle stated that “-I like the way she teaches, she makes our homework understandable and she’s very nice.” Mrs Daysog is the other teacher that teaches English at HHS.
Lastly, Kimberly Pina said her favorite teacher is Ms Maki from band class. Pina stated that “-I like Ms Maki because she lets us be on our phone before we start practicing our instruments.” Ms Maki is our only band teacher at HHS and teaches Concert band and Beginning Band, she also takes band kids on trips like Disneyland and helps hosts Fundraisers.
