Friday, September 22,2023 The football stadium was open and ready for the powderpuff girls and boys to gather on the field. The sun was setting and the gloomy clouds spread across the horizon. The beautiful colors of orange and pink painted the sky to compliment the beautiful day. 

The Juniors and Seniors were running the ball back and forth, and eventually the juniors scored, leaving the score 6-0 putting the 1 point conversion at 7. The juniors were pulling flags left and right and the seniors could not fight back. The juniors were determined and it came down to the last few seconds. The seniors were on offense and there were 10 seconds left on the clock. The juniors lined up and the ball was in play. 

The nervousness silenced the crowd and all you can hear is the noise of the powderpuff girls at war. Senior quarterback throws the ball and Peyton Avila snags the ball for the game winning interception. Juniors taking home the win pridefully. 

Avila said that she, ‘’felt good like excited” after making the interception. This is her first year participating in powderpuff and we can’t wait to see how she does with the seniors next year.

Madi Duron is a senior this year who participated in her last year of powderpuff. Duron said, “Really I’m kinda sad about it especially because we lost, but it was really fun while it lasted.”

Both classes had a great time bonding together. It was a great win against seniors this year. Let’s see if the juniors can keep up with this winning streak, or will the upcoming juniors come in and take the win at next years powderpuff.
