Maggie Scarioni is a Senior who is involved with cross country, soccer, and track. She is one of the top runners on the Cross Country team and has been improving almost every single week. Scarioni claimed, “The season has been pretty well so far! JV boys have been doing awesome, they’ve placed first at a lot of meets. JV girls are still not a full team but we’re close! Varsity girls are doing well, too! We’ve placed number one at two of our TVL meets, and so have the JV boys. We have a couple of injured runners but they’re slowly coming back. Varsity boys have had some great efforts so far as well! Honestly, over all the team we’ve seen a lot of great efforts and I’m pretty excited to see how the rest of the season turns out!” Maggie being so inspirational to all her teammates has aided everyone on the team to feel secure and perform to their best ability.
Sarah is a Sophomore who has been involved in Cross country for many years. Sarah stated,”This Cross country season has gone great! We have a great team with such an amazing relationship with one another and lots of amazing athletes that have pushed us very far so far. We have a lot of new members that have proved to be amazing and will continue to get better along with our older members who continue to advance too. I have a great feeling about this season and feel like we have a pretty good lineup that will learn and grow together throughout their time on our team.”
To start off the season, the HHS Cross Country team went to River Bluff Regional Park. There were numerous of the top competitors that did not get to compete due to injuries. Now you can recognize that with the encouragement from spectacular teammates, the HHS Cross country team has pushed through many challenges and have overcome them together.
