The Hughson staff and students are incredibly excited to welcome Mrs. Tavernier to the pack! She is one of the newest faces around campus, so be sure to say hello. She completed her teaching credentials at Grand Canyon University after graduation from Downey High School. This is her first year teaching. She has two sons, ages 4 and 7, attending Hughson Elementary School. She says that she gravitated towards Hughson because “Hughson is my community, and I have always wanted to teach at the High school level. Also, why not start at the best?”.
Mrs. Tavernier is excited to teach her students this year and hopes to help them understand different math concepts and maybe even have fun along the way! Her favorite thing about her new classroom is her “Good Vibes” sign. Tavernier emphasizes that her biggest influence was her teacher, Mrs. Bernard. She adds on to say “She is a fantastic teacher and I am using much of what she has taught me in my own classroom.”
