Spirit is the heartbeat of any high school experience. Spirit is a force that brings students, faculty, and the community together. It transforms ordinary school days into extraordinary experiences and fosters a sense of belonging and pride. From spirited pep rallies to themed dress up days, high school spirit is about celebrating unity and creating an environment where students want to participate and bring life to school.
Victoria Violette said, “School spirit is important to me because at football and volleyball games when we are all cheering, I feel like it brings us closer together, like a family.”
At Hughson High School lots of students comment about how they wish they had more spirit at their school.
Cienna Guillette said, “I wish we could have more pep rallies, and just more school activities to bring us together.”
“With having homecoming so early this year, it was very rushed and not as fun as it was in the past. I also wish we had pep rallies before football games, I feel like more students will want to go support the boys and the football team will get hyped up as well.” said Kelsi Britt.
The common opinion from students is that Hughson needs more school spirit. They just want something to bring their school together. By encouraging greater participation and enthusiasm, students will develop a greater bond and a sense of community for their school. By promoting their school spirit, they will not only enhance the high school experience but also build a legacy of unity and pride that future students can carry forward.
