This past Friday, 221 students at Hughson High School were awarded for achieving perfect attendance for the month of September. 

Students who attended school for the entire month were rewarded with ice cream and also with a pass to see the Hughson High School drama department play, High School Musical 2. 

“Well I didn’t expect to get rewarded, but I appreciated it,” said Joseph Gordo.

Students who attend school regularly are able to receive more classroom instruction time, and this is reflected in their academic success in both the short-term and long-term. 

“Honestly I think it’s really good because it motivates people to come to school because you get an award. But I feel like everybody here comes to school anyway cause it’s their job,” stated Madison Brown.
