From turkey to stuffing and filling our faces with our favorite Thanksgiving dishes, Thanksgiving has been celebrated since 1621 in many households. The holiday first began as a day to give thanks. Families will even start making their own traditions based off of their own cultures. After the past year we couldn’t celebrate Thanksgiving the way we would’ve liked.

Because of Covid-19, last year Thanksgiving could not be celebrated the way we would’ve due to regulations. Stricter policies on social distancing and families still on quarantine prevented interaction with families and friends. Families would do online videochats to follow the guidelines and to protect themselves as well. This year I’m sure that there will still be restrictions but different from last year.

Thanksgiving can mean different things to different people. Miranda Reynaga says “Thanksgiving is a time to eat lots of food and hang out with family. During Thanksgiving I’m very grateful for life and everything I’m blessed with.” This joyful holiday is a great day to spend time with your loved ones.

Even though there may not be stricter regulations you should still wash your hands. Make sure you keep the guest list short and sweet to maintain social distancing as well. While you are celebrating this year make sure to remember to stay safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
