In the current month of August, our first Teacher of the Month for the school year has been elected to be Ms. Brazil, who teaches U.S. History, Leadership, and Life of a Husky Leadership Academy here at HHS. Ms. Brazil has spent 23 years at HHS teaching students how to grow not only academically but also as people.

Ms. Brazil attended Turlock High School where she graduated and directly went to Modesto Junior College and then transferred on to Cal Poly and Stanislaus State University where she acquired her Bachelor’s degree in history. While she was in college, she had great teachers and coaches that inspired her to start coaching volleyball and teaching students. “This is when I decided education was the field for me,” says Ms. Brazil.

When Ms. Brazil found out that she was nominated for Teacher of the Month, she replied saying, “I was very honored. We have great staff here and it is great to be a part of this team.”

To Ms. Brazil, teaching isn’t just a job, “Teaching is who I am and I have been honored to be a part of so many students’ lives over the years.”
