The college fair was a tradition at HHS to encourage students not only to attend college but to be able to receive all of the information and resources needed to decide what their plans after high school will be. This event helps make the best possible experience by keeping an open mind and allowing others to get the experience of going to each college that one is interested in and receiving that information that will be very beneficial in the near future. Karalee Ruelas is the teacher that is overseeing this event but the students of Renaissance are the ones that are organizing the event.

The colleges that are attending this event are: Army, Marines, Navy, Merced Junior College, UC Merced, Fresno, Sonoma, MJC, UOP, amongst others. This event allows seniors to be able to see their options for their plans after high school. During this college fair, it will allow students, especially seniors, to receive more information about some place they may be interested. “I know a lot of seniors that went to college because of this event. I would definitely encourage going straight to a 4-year university right after high school.” Jackie stated. “Sometimes a college or a university nearby is a great option for many, especially financially. However, I do believe that school is for everybody. At least some type of school, if it’s at a junior college, community college, trade school or even a short online course to be a professional in a certain field is a way to get yourself educated, in order to excel in a specific pathway.”

For example Jacqueline Garcia plans to attend a 4-year university right after highschool, this shows how this event has affected someone. Some colleges recommended by Jacqueline Garcia for attending would definitely be UOP or Fresno state since they are both choices that most people have taken into consideration for attendance next fall. Some tips for all students for attending this fair would be to be respectful and keep an open mind during this college fair since college application season for the class of 2023 will be taking place this fall, we encourage everyone to try and get information about anything that they are interested in.
