NFL Week 3 Wrap Up

Martin Ochoa, Staff Writer

Now that we passed up week 3 in the NFL we have a pretty fair idea of the great teams this season and the not great teams. The teams that are 3 and 0 are, The Eagles and the Dolphins.

Last week I went 3 of 4 of the game picks and I’m 6/8 on the season. The one I had got wrong was 49ers vs Broncos, Broncos win 11-10.

Now moving on to the stat leaders of the NFL, The passing leader now is Josh Allen with 1014 passing yards and 9 touchdowns. Last week his team took their first loss of the season.

The new rushing leader is Nick Chubb with 341 yards and 4 touchdowns. His team is coming off a Prime time win against the Steelers.

For 3 weeks in a row now Cooper Kupp leads the league in receiving with 28 catches, 280 yards, and 3 touchdowns. His team came off a close win against the Falcons 31-27.

Starting with defensive stats now, Jonathan Owens is now tied with Roquan Smith in tackling with 36 combined tackles. Coincidentally they played each other this week and the Bears had won.

Marcus Williams still leads the league in interceptions with 3. His team the Ravens beat the Patriots this week.

And last but not least we have the sacks leader. Alex Highsmith reclaims his crown, leading the league in sacks with 4.5. However, His team, the Steelers, is coming off a loss.

Now with the last segment of this Article, The week 4 prime time picks. First up is Dolphins @ Bengals.

The Bengals O-line this year is really bad, giving up 15 sacks in 3 weeks. Last week the Dolphins had 4 sacks against the passing leader Josh Allen.

However, Dolphins DBs got burned last week by Josh Allen with 43 completions and 400 yards. On offense the Dolphins were pretty balanced with the run and pass game.

I think the Dolphins are Super Bowl contenders this year and the Bengals are not. With that being said I’m gonna pick the Dolphins for this game.

Next game is a very good one, The Chiefs @ The Buccaneers. Last week both of these powerhouses took their first loss of the season. The Chiefs lost 17-20 to the Colts and The Bucs lost 12-14. As you can see they both lost due to close games.

Starting with the Bucs. Last week on defense for the Bucs they didn’t pressure the quarterback too much with only 1 sack. The Chiefs only gave up 1 sack and on defense they got 5 sacks.

Tom Brady got hit a lot last week and got sacked 3 times. Overall though he played pretty good. I think if the Chiefs pressure Tom Brady and capitalize on offense they should win this game.

Last game for the Prime time Picks, the Rams @ the 49ers. Rams coming off a win and 49ers coming off a loss

Starting with the Rams, they had the running game going, and the passing game was even better. On offense they did what an offense needed to do to get a win. However on defense they only had 2 sacks and 0 interceptions but they did keep the cardinals to 12 points only.

the 49ers last week had Jimmy Garoppolo for a full game and he didn’t do great. He gave up a safety and an interception. On defense they did good with 4 sacks and only giving up 11 points. They also gave up 4 sacks in the 49ers loss.

I think the Rams are going to shut down the 49ers run game and are going to force them to throw it and cause mistakes for the 49ers. I think the 49ers will have more mistakes this game and the Rams will win.

These were my week 3 stats and week 4 prime time prediction.
