Hughson High School offense started on a bumpy path but defense backed them up leading them to victory. In the start of the game the boys were headed on a bad path but as soon as they got their energy up. HHS were able to score against Twelve Bridges. Robert McDaniel for the pass to David Delgado making it 26 yards up, giving us an advantage to make a touchdown. McDaniel had a lot of great passes, but we couldn’t have done it without David Delgado and Liam Bridgford. Offense putting their feet down and blocking. McDaniel passed the ball to Bridgford, making his way through the middle of everyone, using all his strength blocking off all the players. Giving us a 64 yard touchdown. Offense was not in the game that day, but with the strength of defense we were able to win the first playoffs game.

Nick Brown the Varsity Coach stated “It was a roller coaster of emotions right, like a game that we definitely did not play the best game, we are very sloppy offensively. But you know with play off games really at the end of the day you have to figure out how to get through that game with a W, and credit the boys with their heart and to fight through and figure out  whatever way they needed to win that game. Because it doesn’t have to be pretty in a playoff game, all you have to do is just win to move on. The boys showed a lot of heart to fight through all of the ups and downs of that game. The defensive really did a lot to keep us in that game with the way the offensive struggled through but when it really counted the offensive also did what they had to do which credit to those players big time.”

David Delgado, Varsity Offensive player said “It was a huge win. We should have blown them out but we just finished the job, we just didn’t play great. But we finished the job and now we are on to the next round. I felt like i played good shouldn’t of let my actions affect me

on the field because it gives us penalties. It felt good to have the 2 point conversion but it was all liams decision liam said to change the play and that gave me the 2 point conversion to win the game.”
