A classic 2000’s holiday movie, The animated film version of Dr. Seuss’ beloved children’s tale, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” is brought to life in this live-action adaptation. The reclusive green Grinch (Jim Carrey) decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville when he sneaks down from his mountaintop home and steals everything holiday-related from their homes. However, the bitter grump finds a hitch in his plans when he encounters endearing Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen).

I found the movie hilarious. Jim Carrey’s overacting and diverse character portrayals really come into play throughout the film, especially in his portrayal of Grinch. It shows how different people can have different attitudes toward Christmas, whether they love it or hate it. The scenery is appealing and well-made to look like what you’d think a Dr. Seuss movie should look like. The characters fit well together and add to the story in their own unique way. It definitely made me laugh. I recommend this as a must watch either alone, with family or friends.
