Every year in February across the world people celebrate Black History Month. The first Black History month was in the 1970’s. Many people consider Black History month a virtue of importance to celebrate their Pride, Culture, and Heritage.

U.S. History teacher, Mrs. Brazil said “Black History Month was created to focus attention on the contributions of African Americans to the United States.¨ Mrs. Brazil also stated “it honors all African Americans from all periods of U.S. history, from the enslaved people first brought over from Africa in the early 17th century to African Americans living in the United States today.” Mrs.Brazil said “it’s important to learn our history so we can learn from it in a positive way.”
