Our world constantly revolves around history yet we don’t even realize it. Everything circles around history, and I find that fascinating. Amy McAndrews is a history teacher who has been teaching history for 22 years.

Amy McAndrews stated her opinion about history generally, “I think it’s fascinating. I love learning why people did this or that.” Furthermore, McAndrew said, “It’s just interesting. I love facts.”

McAndrews expressed that she wants to teach history for the rest of her life by responding with, “Yes. Even though it’s in the past, there is always some topic to learn about and teach about.” She then stated that she’d describe history as, “Complicated. It’s not so easy to explain sometimes.”

McAndrews said the unusuality of history is, “How it can be told from various perspectives.  We need to learn all the angles to get the big picture, the full story.”

Afterwards, she explained what she finds extraordinary, “How people with the skills to advance human development were in the right place and the right time to make history.”

Lastly, she verbalized her feelings on the importance of history, “I think it’s so important to know the backstory of how we got to this point.“

Leading to our next teacher, Kaci Brazil, who has been teaching social science for 24 years and U.S History for 14 years, said, “I love history!! It is so interesting and it explains culture and politics.”

Brazil stated her reasoning for teaching history, she said, “As a kid, history was one of my favorite subjects and I wanted to get my future students excited about the topic.” Afterwards, claimed why she likes history, “History is so dynamic and explains so much of how we live and why.”

“Spellbinding.” is the word she described history as. Brazil stated that history is unusual because, “That the tale can change based on who’s telling the story.” To her, the extraordinary thing about history is, “There are so many facets to every event and culture.”

Expressing whether history is significant, Brazil says, “Yes!!”
