This week on the Sports Insider we are looking into the mindset of Hughson Huskies Varsity Flag football players and their coach. The Huskies will be facing the Ripon Indians, on Ripon’s home turf. The Huskies are going into their 2nd league game of the season. The girls have been doing very well this season, for this being their first year having it at the High School. After the win of 26-0 against Hilmar the girls are ready to comeback strong and win the second game in the league.
Number 11, Senior at Hughson, Finley Wells said, “I’m very excited to play them. Last time we played them we didn’t use all our plays and I think our team has found what works for us and that’s what’s going to make us improve the next time we play them, and hopefully beat them. I can’t wait to see Leah destroy Ripon!”
Number 4, Junior at Hughson and quarterback Leah Hobby said, “I’m excited to play them again. I think we have been working hard and improving on both offense and defense. I believe that I have made some improvements that will allow us to move the ball and score more than last time.”
Number 15, Senior at Hughson, Peyton Avila said, “If you woke up broke you should have never gone to bed. Time for revenge. Baby gronk will be destroyed. I’m excited to play them again because we are gonna destroy them.”
Not only the coach but history teacher at Hughson High School, Mr. Garza said, “I’m looking forward to playing Ripon again. We have greatly improved and it will be a much different result than last time.”
Number 6, Senior at Hughson, Sophia Sanchez said “I’m excited to play them again because we are going to destroy them and come back harder than ever. I believe as a team we will get the work done and win that victory.”
